SHINE - The Annual Camp Ten Trees Dinner & Auction! Saturday, April 21st, 2012 - Seattle, WA
Camp Ten Trees offers one of only a handful of programs of its kind in the world and is the Pacific Northwest's only residential summer camp for children and youth of LGBTQA families and communities. At Camp Ten Trees, these children and youth find a place of loving engagement and resiliency-building...a place to nurture the skills they need to strengthen their communities...a place to be the change they wish to see in the world. In the words of a long-time summer camp volunteer:Camp is kind of an example of what the world should be like. People shouldn't
have to worry so much about where they can feel safe at, where they can
be accepted. Youth and staff alike have immense courage to go to our camp
and to be that safety, to be that acceptance, for each other.
Since the summer of 2001, Camp Ten Trees has offered loving, engaging, and low-cost or free camp sessions to children of LGBTQ families and to youth who are themselves LGBTQ or allies.
Thanks to the funds raised each year at the annual auction, we have never had to turn away a potential camper for financial reasons. Each year, over 50% of our campers need additional financial assistance beyond the low end of our camp tuition sliding scale. With your tax-deductible donation of an item or items to our annual auction, you ensure that Camp Ten Trees can sustain this vital program for all the children and youth who need it.
Donate to the Auction -- We need stuff, gift certificates, experiences, etc. Just complete the form, keeping the bottom stub for your records and returning the top portion to us by March 31st, 2012. Items donated early may be featured in promotional e-mails, sent to over 2,500 supporters, as well as in the auction event program itself. Camp Ten Trees encourages all auction guests to support the businesses and organizations who donate items to this event! Every donation, whether large or small, will help us reach our goal! What we are hoping for:
- Items that represent what you do (or your business does) best!
- Trips & Travel Experiences
- Dining & Entertainment Experiences
- Everyday & Household Items
- Gift Certificates
- Fine Art & Handmade Crafts
- The Possibilities are Endless!
Be a Table Captain -- Get some friends together to attend this awesome event. A big part of the fun of the Camp Ten Trees auction is having a whole room full of little table communities. Find some friends who want to join you in supporting our campers, and put together a table for the auction. If you like, you can even create a table theme...encourage your friends to wear costumes...make your own party favors...and more. You know, get campy. We like it that way.
Help Procure Items for the Auction -- Here's a handy dandy tip sheet for ya!
Donate a Homemade Dessert -- We need sweet treats for the Dessert Dash.
Be an Event Sponsor -- Help us make this 12th annual auction happen.
Place an Ad in the Auction Event Program -- Promote your business to our guests!
Purchase Auction Tickets! If last year is any indication, this is sure to be a sold out event. Don't delay in securing your seat. Regular and VIP tickets are available.
If you would like more information about this event (donating items, becoming an event sponsor, placing a program ad, etc.), just check out the Auction Resources Page or feel free to contact Airen at (206) 288-9568 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
