The Safe Schools Coalition seeks an experienced trainer and volunteer coordinator to contract as Speakers Bureau Manager (approximately 15 hours/week). Apply by October 7.

Contract Description

The Safe Schools Coalition is an international public-private partnership in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth, that is working to help schools - at home and all over the world - become safe places where every family can belong, where every educator can teach, and where every child can learn, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Speakers Bureau Manager is responsible for:
1) generating, scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating trainings and presentations related to the creation of safe schools and communities for LGBTQ people, as well as for others from marginalized communities
2) planning, coordinating and participating in outreach
3) developing workshops and lesson plans
4) maintaining the Speakers Bureau web page
5) recruiting, training, supervising and supporting trainers
6) compiling relevant reports
7) attending monthly Coalition meetings
8) attending conferences, workshops, and other training events relevant to the position
 
POSITION DETAILS: This is an 11 month contract position, beginning as soon as possible. Schedule is flexible and the contractor works from home. Tasks are expected to take approximately 15 hours/week. Paid at the equivalent of $20-25/hour DOE. There is also the opportunity to pick up extra training hours at a higher rate of pay. Mileage reimbursed.

The contractor is NOT an employee of the fiscal agent or the Safe Schools Coalition and must provide their own transportation, cell phone, computer/ internet connection, and office space. The independent contractor shall not be treated as an employee with respect to the services performed hereunder for federal or state tax purposes. The independent contractor understands that the responsibility for income and payroll taxes is theirs according to the law. The fiscal agent and Safe Schools Coalition agree to allow the contractor to choose how to complete the job and the contractor’s hours of work shall be of the contractor’s own choosing.
