(1) Our Whole Lives curriculum training (Oct 7-9; Pasco, WA)

This particular training is geared toward the 7th-9th and 10th-12th grade curricula; however, there is a lot of great info about sexuality education in general incorporated into the training.

Our Whole Lives is a sexuality curriculum for all ages developed for use in Unitarian Universalist and United Church of Christ settings. Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives not only provides facts about anatomy and human development, but also helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.

(2) Week of Respect Kick-Off event (Oct 1; Nutley, NJ)

Garden State Equality and the Garden State Equality Youth Caucus present a Week of Respect Kick-Off event on Saturday, October 1st, 2011, 11am-1pm at John H. Walker Middle School in Nutley, New Jersey.

This exciting one-of-a-kind event aims to prepare students for the challenging bullying situations they are faced with every day and to empower them with the tools they need to become anti-bullying leaders in their own schools.

Through hands-on role-playing, skits and quiz games, students will explore a wide variety of school bullying situations and solutions and explore ways in which they can help their schools celebrate Week of Respect.

We'd like your help in spreading news of this event to both your  Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and student government.  Can you ask leaders and members of those groups if it would be okay for me to contact them, and if so, to let me know how I can best be in touch?   My cell phone number, which you can give out freely, is 646-228-4438.
