(1  2nd UPDATE: Youth Suicide Prevention Program - Call Your Washington State Representatives TODAY!
Funding for the Youth Suicide Prevention Program is not yet fully included in the Washington State Senate budget as wed originally thought, though it is included in the House budget.

We need to keep up our efforts to ensure the final budget agreed upon by the House and Senate funds the Youth Suicide Prevention Program at the full, House budget level of $340,000 for the biennium!

Calls are needed to budget leaders in the House and Senate, Senators Ed Murray (43rd legislative district), Derek Kilmer (26th LD), and Joe Zarelli (18th LD), and Representatives Ross Hunter (48th LD), Jeannie Darneille (27th LD), and Gary Alexander (20th LD).

The request should be: "Please support full funding for the Youth Suicide Prevention Program at $340,000 for the biennium as funded in the House version of the budget, HB 1087, in the final budget agreement!"

The budget will not be final until the House and Senate agree during a special session, and calls are needed to the above legislators with the above message.

Youth in Washington are still very much in need of the important, life-saving services provided by the Youth Suicide Prevention Program. http://www.yspp.org/
Cuts to the program could be life or death for young people at risk of suicide.

Please call the legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000 RIGHT NOW, and ask them to tell your Representatives in the House to support the Liias amendment to maintain the Youth Suicide Prevention Program! You dont even need to know who your Representatives are - hotline operators will ask for your address and send your message to the House members who represent you.

Please take action NOW!

Thanks for your help!
