Dear Safe Schools Coalition Members and Friends:

(1)  ACTION ALERT: Another Chance to Preserve the Youth Suicide Prevention Program - Call Your Representatives TODAY! Washington State

Note: We are sharing this item because we believe that it is an issue Safe Schools Coalition members and friends may be interested in.
If you have opinion about it, please let your voice be heard.

(1)  Another Chance to Preserve the Youth Suicide Prevention Program - Call Your Representatives TODAY!
The budget proposal in Washington's House of Representatives includes cutting the Youth Suicide Prevention Program in half, but program champion Representative Marko Liias has offered an amendment to fully fund the program, at just $170,000.

Youth in Washington are still very much in need of the important, life-saving services provided by the Youth Suicide Prevention Program, and cuts to the program could be life or death for young people at risk of suicide.

Please call the legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000 RIGHT NOW, and ask them to tell your Representatives in the House to support the Liias amendment to maintain the Youth Suicide Prevention Program! You don't even need to know who your Representatives are - hotline operators will ask for your address and send your message to the House members who represent you.

The budget proposal is moving fast through the House and will be voted on very soon, so please take action NOW!

Thanks for your help,
The Safe Schools Law and Policy Committee
