Dear Safe Schools Coalition Members and Friends:

Note: We are sharing the Action Alert item because we believe that it is an issue Safe Schools Coalition members and friends may be interested in.

If you have opinions about it, please let your voice be heard.

You can help ensure stronger anti-bullying protections in Washington State by contacting your legislators TODAY in support of HB 1163 at the legislative hotline, 1-800-562-6000!

House Bill 1163, which would create an ongoing anti-bullying work group to monitor and enhance anti-bullying efforts in Washington schools and would add mental health and youth suicide prevention to classroom assessments on health and fitness learning, may come to a vote on the floor of Washington's House of Representatives THIS AFTERNOON!

Please help make sure it does and it passes by contacting your legislators right now.
You don't even have to know who they are - you can call the legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000, give them your address, and they'll tell you who your legislators are and deliver a message from you.

Your message should be something like this:

"I support making sure all kids in Washington have a safe place to learn and I hope you'll support that too by passing HB 1163, the anti-bullying bill, as soon as possible!"

Thanks for taking action right away for safer schools in Washington.

Safe Schools Law and Policy Committee Co-Chairs Lonnie Johns-Brown and Jennifer Allen
