Free One-Day Crime Victims’ Training Event

Responding to Cyberbullying

We are happy to announce that the King County Crime Victim Service Center, in collaboration with Seattle University’s Criminal Justice Program, invites you to join us for a FREE one-day training event at Seattle University in Seattle, WA.

The agenda will include:

  • Understanding Cyberbullying presented by Mike Donlin, Educator, Trainer and Consultant
  • Understanding the School Response to Cyberbullying presented by Steve Zuber, Ombudsman, Office of the Education Ombudsman, Governor’s Office
  • Legal Perspective on The challenges of Cyberbullying and Supervision of Technology presented by attorney Charles P.E. Leitch, member of the Washington State Attorney General’s Youth Internet Safety Taskforce
  • Understanding Internet Crimes Against Children by Stefanie Thomas, Seattle Police Department Victim Advocate within the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force
  • Challenges of Cyberbullying and What Works presented by Lindsay Palmer, KCSARC Director, Education and Mo Lewis, KCSARC Prevention Services Manager and Youth Panel 

The training will take place in Pigott Auditorium, 901 12th Avenue, Seattle, WA, from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. Snacks and coffee will be provided.  Lunch is on your own.

(2) Schools OUT: Making Schools Safe for LGBT Youth (April 30th;Philadelphia, PA)

This workshop will discuss student, parent and educator rights in supporting LGBTQ equality in public schools. The program will address the current outlook for schools, efforts being made to make schools safer and practical tools participants can use to make a difference in schools.
